Your next family night out is closer than you think!
This is our second freebirdsbaseball game of the season and we are already eager for next year!
We left from our house in Thermalito and it took us 28 minutes to Bryant Field. We parked on the street by Ellis Lake (because those *foul* 🐓 balls can be wild!)
We went on a Friday night because of Fireworks Fridays, and we opted for the tickets in the Dugout Club (directly behind the dugout) with the all you can eat upgrade. Tickets were $25 each, our kid ticket was $15 (remember, all you can eat food!) and they usually have a coupon code if you look on their website freebirdsbaseball.com.
The energy is off the charts. The management and owners of the team have done an amazing job facilitating the Family Fun aspect- there is a kids zone, games throughout with fan participation, and it feels safe enough to let our kids roam free during the game - there was even a group of kids who formed a train shouting “Let’s go Freebirds” and were marching around the stadium during the 8th inning.
The mascot, W***y, is such a hoot! W***y is a wild chicken to represent the “Free Birds” that roam in Yuba City, and a nod to the aircraft “birds” at Beale Airforce Base in Marysville.
The merch is also off the charts. I mean, look at it! Whoever came up with the color scheme needs an award. So bright, fun and colorful.
The food is delicious too, with waffle garlic fries and other baseball park bites and drinks, and for a fraction of the cost of the large baseball parks.
And our youngest *caught* a ball tonight that one of the players threw over. He wanted to get it signed by player Diego after the game! They are so generous with their time for the kids!
We are so grateful to Lon Hatamiya for being on the heartsofgold.media podcast and sharing with us this amazing gem of a team right here in our own backyard.
