On April 27th, 2025 five new sculptures were installed in Puyallup as part of Arts Downtown's outdoor sculpture gallery. A great team of coordinators, a small crane truck and operator, welder, members of Arts Downtown and Artists converged on Puyallup at 7:30am to witness and help in the installation of the great new pieces of art.
First, some previous Art had to be moved to other sites, or picked up to go home. Most of the sculptures are located in Pioneer Park,
around the City Hall, and Library. If you've seen the art around town and it's a sculpture, chances are Arts Downtown has something to do with it. Puyallup continues to have an exceptional Arts program
and a wonderful group of volunteers that brings culture to our little
City. Not many small towns have the luxury of such a great art program where children and adults can experience and learn from such talented Artists and their work. Usually, these organizations are in large metropolitan areas where large populations can afford the Art Museums. Thanks to a small group of artists and art lovers it is possible to do this.

Thank you to all who attended the dedication/ribbon cutting for "Eternal Heart" on Tuesday August 27 in Pioneer Park. Becky Condra from Arts Downtown MC'd the event which featured several speakers. Rosemary Eckerson, an icon of Puyallup and Arts Downtown, was honored with a beautiful memorial sclupture created by Sabah Al-Dhaher, artist. The installation of "Eternal Heart", a new sculpture created by Sabah Al-Dhaher and dedicated to Rosemary Eckerson, took place Monday at Pioneer Park near the southeast corner. Rosemary was the founder of Valley Arts United, now Arts Downtown. Some friends and board members of Arts downtown gathered to witness the event. Rosemary was a friend to many of us in the arts in Puyallup and worked diligently to give the arts a home in our community. It is not too much to say that she was loved by those who knew her and was a great inspiration to us all.
