Creative Memories by Barb Custom Made Memory Quilts Why keep all those precious memories packed away in a box? I put my heart into this. It really means alot.

I can take those t shirts and clothes from athletics, band, choir, clubs or trips, military uniforms, hunting or fishing or whatever you might have and make them into a one of a kind quilt, pillow or teddy bear to preserve those memories so you can proudly display them. They can include photos, favorites sayings, Bible verses, Names and dates or whatever you might want to include. I have lost loved ones and I have made things for myself and others with their clothes and pictures and more.

I once asked my mother why she spent so much time making quilts when it was easier to buy a blanket from the store. She simply smiled and said, “A quilt is more than just a blanket. It’s a piece of family, something that carries warmth long after we are gone.” Now, as I make a quilt for my own child, I finally understand what she meant. A quilt may age, its fabric may fray, but the love within it never fades. It is a legacy, passed down through hands, from one heart to another.

Losing my Mom and my Aunt recently has been so difficult. They were my inspiration for sewing. I know they are watching over me as I sew especially with the fabrics they gave me. If I can be half the quilters they were I would be happy.
