Let’s talk about wedding photos…

I read a quote that really stuck with me “your wedding photos are the first family heirloom that you create.” Let that sink in a little bit.

In 15 years, you want to be able to look back on those and think about all of the happy memories. Often times, your wedding photos are one of the very few times all of your loved ones, friends and family alike will be in 1 place together.

Your photos should reflect a day that you created while celebrating your love. Not memories of “Aunt Sally refused to come unless we served X for dinner.” Or “Everyone said we should get married at this venue because it was central for all my mom’s side of the family.”

If I could offer one piece of advice to any couple planning a wedding, be selfish. Make it about you. If you want a dessert bar, do it. If you don’t want kids at your wedding, it’s your day, do it. Don’t want to do a first look because you want your partners reaction to you walking down the aisle? Perfect. Do it.
