Growing up and watching rom coms and shows set in NYC, I always romanticized going. (Oh and let’s not forget the best Christmas movie ever - Home Alone 2) I never thought photography would be the thing that took me there, but here I am shooting weddings in a city I used to only see in movies.

It is exactly what you see in movies. Magical, mesmerizing, busy, fast paced, scenic, historic. All of the things.

Being in Grand Central Station, picturing myself as Serena, drinking at the Campbell bar. Walking the same streets that Carrie walked in SATC.

This is the part of the job nobody tells you about when you start. You think you’re signing up to take pictures. You end up building a life you didn’t know you could have.

Keep going, keep pushing. Little Nicole would be so proud. 🀍

If you asked me what session lives rent free in my head forever. A session I think about the most, it’d have to be Makeup By Kerin . Hamptons Makeup Artist and Adrian Zengota . But it’s not even the session itself or location.. it’s the couple.

I had an idea in my head about a romantic beach session. Being based in KC, we obviously do not have beaches, so to say I was excited, would be an understatement. When we asked Kiran if her and her husband would be down, she did not hesitate to say yes. Did I have inspo? Nope. Just an idea in my head that I very poorly 🫣 described, and they ran with it.

Despite MANY delays in even arriving to the beach (thanks Apple Maps and Google Maps) we utilized the short time frame and made absolute MAGIC. ✨

Forever grateful for the friendship Kiran and I have grown since this photo shoot. πŸ₯°

Summer engagement sessions are brutal and worth it. You sweat through your shirt, your makeup starts sliding, and the mosquitoes show up right on cue. Then you look around and the greenery is at its absolute peak, so full and lush. Despite the heat, it does give you some of the best backdrops.
