There is so much beauty in the world! You don’t have to go far. Just go outside and explore! Take a minute to stop and smell the flowers. Watch the bees and butterfly’s. Hug a tree. Sit on a rock by the lake and watch the tide swoosh in while the sun sets. I promise your soul will thank you.

I just can’t get enough of these views!!!! Pomme de Terre literally means “Apple of the earth” in French. Forrest’s and bluffs surround the clear blue spring fed lake. It is located in the rugged, tree covered hills of the west central Missouri Ozarks on the Pomme de Terre River. It is used as part of a comprehensive flood control system for the Missouri River Basin. Managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers. It covers 7,820 acres and can expand to as much as 16,100 acres during periods of heavy rain as excess runoff is impounded to prevent downstream flooding. It works in conjunction with several other Corps operated lakes to provide flood protection for the Osage River Basin and the lower Missouri and Mississippi Rivers. The state park offers 2 main hiking trails along with several smaller interconnected trails offering a multitude of scenic views. It’s your future. Are you going to take the lead or just stand by and let everyone else decide how your life should go. It’s not always an easy choice and it’s not always a choice everyone else thinks you should make. Do it anyways. There may be struggles along the way. Nobody said it was going to be easy. But that doesn’t make it wrong. It just makes the final result even more worth it in the end. It’s your life. So go out and live it!
