Kali Joy Photography Hi, I’m Kali! I’m a portrait and wedding photographer who loves to photograph families and couples!

I absolutely love it when the even the smallest details of a wedding day come together to tell a cohesive story, and I know some of you brides have been dreaming of a wedding just like that! That’s a wonderful thing, but if you’ve been planning on doing it all yourself, you may want to consider whether you’ll really save money at the end of the day. The thought you’ve put into this day is so special, and you want to make sure the mood stays fun and light all the way through to your honeymoon.

If you’re unsure whether your day is a better fit for a planner or DIY, here are some helpful questions to ask yourself:
- Which details am I strongly opinionated about?
- Do I know of easy & affordable ways to DIY those things?
- If I were to buy all the supplies I’d need on Amazon right now, how much would that cost?
- Are there any supplies I’m planning to purchase that’s local wedding planner would provide?
- Do I know anyone who would let me borrow or have things from their wedding? Would I be happy with that or would it mess with my vision?
- Is it easier / less stressful for me to do this myself or pick up some extra shifts to cover the help?
- What aspect of wedding planning is stressing me out the most?
- Do I need to recruit lots of help in order to make my DIY plans work? Is that help being offered or will I have to ask?
- Does anyone I know have a planner they love or recommend?

The good news is, planner or no planner, the right photographer will help you map out a schedule for your day that will work for everyone and make things feel smooth and stress-free. That’s one of the biggest things I do with my couples before their wedding day, and it makes all the difference in my couple’s stress-levels on their day 🤍.

How has it already been a month since the most perfect couple said their vows? 🥹

Finishing up this gallery tonight and reminiscing about a few of my favorite moments from their day. These two have the sweetest chemistry and the purest hearts. Capturing their day was an honor 🤍.

Glimpses of summer in between editing sessions, including camping in the ADK with some of our favorite people, family time, and feeling so proud and grateful to live in this nation that so many have fought so hard to make so great, a place where even after two and a half centuries, families are still valued, small businesses still thrive, personal convictions are still honored, and people still have a voice. Thank you God for these people, thank you for this life, and thank you for America 🇺🇸.

I just can’t with how glowy these portraits turned out 😊. Hannah & Anthony’s venue was a lot like them, laid back and yet, effortless. Between their chemistry and the scenery, capturing these pictures was a dream. I’d shoot there and with couples like them again and again 🤍.

Some of my favorite moments of Hannah getting ready for her wedding day 🤍.

Everything about this day was so true to Hannah, where she came from and who she and Anthony are together: relaxed, nostalgic, & simple, and the result was so effortlessly beautiful. It was a joy to capture their day 🥰.

Couples tell me things along these lines all the time; that they’re awkward in front of the camera, not very photogenic, don’t know how to pose together, the list goes on and on.

And I get why they feel that way, because I feel it when I’m in front of a camera too!

The difference is having the right person BEHIND the camera, someone who’s invested in understanding you as a couple and giving thorough, easy directions. You might find you don’t look so awkward together after all 😉.

When mom texts you the day before the session that she hurt her knee and can’t walk far, apparently that’s just an opportunity to find your new favorite location 😊.

Wherever we had picked wouldn’t have made much of a difference with Jess and Mike’s little family though. The affectionate moments, the sassy faces (I’m looking at you Hads 😉), and the pure love shining through—that’s just who they are.

I love that even when life is pure chaos, they carve out time for this. Someday the crazy schedules will die down, but these memories will still be with them 💕

I’ve been sitting on this for a little while and I’m so ready to finally share it with you all!

I’ve been thinking for a while about how I could do a better job serving you after your session—because getting your photos delivered is one thing, but actually doing something with them is a whole other story. Trust me, I get it! Pictures are my livelihood, and I’m still sitting here stressing about the fact that our toddler doesn’t have a single printed picture in our house and her (nonexistent) baby book 😬.

It can be so overwhelming—picking where to order, what to order, putting it all together, even just remembering to do it is a task of its own. And something always felt missing to me about holding your hand through the whole planning process and then leaving you on your own when it came to actually doing something meaningful with the result.

Enter: the print store!

Every gallery now comes with a storefront attached directly to it, no extra tabs or steps. As you browse print options, CloudSpot (my gallery service) will automatically “try on” your actual photos so you can see exactly what they’d look like. It’ll even show you how different size prints and canvases look staged with furniture (a huge help for all of us spatially unaware girlies 😅). And my favorite part is that I got to handpick the printer that fulfills your orders! They’re a family-owned pro lab, and the quality really shows. Think of it this way—Walmart 1 Hour Photo is totally fine for casual prints. But when you’re hanging something on your wall that you want to love for years, you want pro-lab quality. That’s why I love whcc, and I think you will too!

At the end of the day, I just want to make it a little easier to get your photos off your phone and onto your walls, because they’re your memories, and they deserve better than just a folder in the cloud.

If you’ve had a session with me and want to check out your storefront, head to your gallery! And if your session was before last October, just reach out and I’ll get you set up 💕

For a while now, I’ve been thinking about how I can better serve my Mammas and Brides. You guys are so busy, whether you’re balancing work and chasing babies or overwhelmed putting together hundreds of wedding details—and I wanted to add something to your experience with me that would take just a few decisions off your shoulders and hopefully give you a wave of relief.

And it’s coming in June!

Want to be first in the know? My email list will get updated first, along with a sweet surprise 😊. Sign up at the link in my bio before June 1st to get all the details (plus a little something extra 🎁) straight to your inbox.

She may still want the birds to win, but she does wear navy and orange for him, and I think that’s when we knew it was serious ☺️.

I needed a brush up on this venue before a wedding next month and my brother and his girlfriend were willing to model for me, which made it way more fun. We snuck in a super quick blue hour session while we were all together and since I don’t get to see them often it was an extra treat.

This song is their song, and considering Brock’s obsession with the Broncos that started before we can remember, I think was a good pick 😛. I love getting to see them together, and even though blue hour isn’t my favorite, these photos are because of them 😊.
