Today I received a call for Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep. My friend and teammate, Lindsey Tieman, answered the call with me, and together we drove two hours to serve this sweet baby and family. 🤍

It was such a gift to have both of us there. I know we captured portraits of their precious baby that this family will cherish forever, and I’m so grateful we were able to serve them together.

Afterward, Lindsey and I had dinner and talked about the session, about NILMDTS, about life, and about all the things that come with doing this work. There is something really special about having someone beside you who understands the weight of these sessions without having to explain it.

This work is hard. It is heartbreaking. It stays with you. But it is also one of the greatest privileges I have ever been given.

Tonight I’m especially grateful for this organization, for the families who trust us during the most unimaginable moments of their lives, and for teammates who become friends along the way. 🤍

Two photographers. Four hours in the car. One very special little life that will not be forgotten.

This is why we answer the call. 💙
