Fall in the San Juans is truly is unmatched. It always feels like a peak into a hidden work, as you watch the landscape and wildlife prepare for the long winter ahead. It's such a special time of year to explore and even more special to be married in the mountains.

This day with Marissa and Tony, although only planned in a few short months, held every bit of that magic that a fall elopement in Ouray brings. They held their ceremony in an Aspen grove, as the yellow leaves rained down on them, and then spent the evening exploring my favorite mountain basin, wrapping up in a Nordic blanket between photos to stay warm. They ended the night back at their cabin with a private chef cooking them a beautiful, multi course meal under the candle light.

Congrats to these two 🫶🏻

Sarah + Aaron's multi day Telluride wedding —

A day spent just the two of them, exploring the San Juan mountains at sunrise, and a day spent surrounded by family and friends, starting with a tiny wedding in a meadow and ending with a candlelit dinner at their Airbnb.

It was so fulfilling and wonderful to see it all come together so perfectly, after months of intentional planning. What a way to get married ✨

Mariah & Elliot chose the San Juan Mountains as the backdrop for their intimate ceremony, surrounded by family and the endless expanse of alpine wilderness.

Their day was meaningful, centered around love and remembrance. They celebrated marriage, and family, and honored someone very special who couldn’t be there, weaving his memory into every moment of the day. They honored the past while embracing the future, and it was an immense privilege to be brought along to document it all.

As the sun began to set, we climbed higher to witness a surprise alpenglow light up the distant mountain peaks across the valley. They stood on a rock overlooking the view, and Elliot took a few moments to tell Mariah what she meant to him. I’ll never know exactly what he said, but I do know it was incredibly special. Watching these two take it all in, hands intertwined, reminded me why tiny weddings in big places will always be my favorite kind of magic.

I always find myself coming back to the word magical when trying to find the words to describe an elopement day, but even that falls completely short of encapsulating the feeling of Jessica and Donny's elopement. It was magical, and it was also so much more. The salty air and the smell of calla lillies blooming, reading their vows as the waves crashed against the rugged coastline, watching the sun set into the hazy horizon — words will never do it justice, but photos can come close to memorializing not just how it looked, but how it felt. I don't think I'll ever succeed at fully capturing the feeling of it all, but it sure is wonderful to try.

Congrats to these two. What a magical way to get married.

I spent the past few days blogging a very special wedding - my own 🥹

There is so much I want to say about this day, and yet simultaneously it’s impossible to find the right words.

I have heard so many people describe their wedding as the best day of their lives, and I always found myself wondering if they really meant that, but after our own day, I can say with resounding certainty, that it truly was the best day of our lives. When I think back on it, every part of it feels… magical - that’s the only word I can find to encapsulate the feeling of this day, and yet even that word feels inadequate. It was emotional, intimate, special and just… magical.

Our biggest goal was to plan a day that honored our marriage and the profound, impactful commitment we were making. We wanted a day rooted in that significance, and to keep our marriage at the center of every decision we made. As my mom always says - a day that is more about the marriage than the wedding. That was the goal. I wanted to have an answer to the question of “why?” for every piece of the day, and I think we achieved that. Every detail was planned with intention, from the people we chose to invite, to the food we chose to eat. No piece of our day felt like we were following a trend, or trying to get a photo opt, and I love that I can look back on every aspect of the day and understand the why behind it.

I decided to write this blog post to share more about our day, the decisions we made, and what made it so magical, in the hopes that this can help any other couples out there planning their own elopement. You deserve to feel like your wedding was the best day of your lives too and to look back on it with fondness.

I also wanted to take the time to properly thank all of our incredible vendors, and our family members who brought this day to life for us. There aren’t enough words xx

My new website is officially live.

This project has truly been a labor of love for me - so much more than just a site migration, but a full rebrand to bring all of the intention and heart behind my business to life.

Here are a few bits and pieces of my site, and link is in the bio to check it out. As always, desktop is the best way to fully take it in 🫶🏻

Summer nights at Dunton —

Reminiscing on this day with Jenny + Tylor, wandering around exploring hidden waterfalls, snuggling in their old mining cabin, and watching the sky turn to blue from a private hot spring.
