To start off July, I want to highlight our nation's capital at ARC Hotel, Washington DC, Series By Marriott. As one of the only Series hotels in the nation so far, I felt privileged to shoot this hotel, and I'm excited to come back later this month to finish off their guest rooms. The 24 Hour Market with the morning breakfast is a really cool feature.

There are so MANY AMENITIES at the Four Points by Sheraton Orlando International Drive that it's hard to choose a favorite. From an arcade for children (or adults), outdoor pool, shuttle to Universal Orlando Resort as an official partner hotel, restaurants, and more, you'll be ready for a great trip no matter the time of year. Could it be enough for me to trade my loyalty of Walt Disney World hotels and resorts to Universal? Only time will tell!

Just knocked out another StudioRes project in Leland, North Carolina at the StudioRes by Marriott Leland! This hotel is a simple and efficient build with nicely sized guest rooms. Make sure to use the EV Chargers during your stay!

I'm super excited to announce that I've photographed my first Hyatt hotel with the Hyatt Regency Princeton, part of Hyatt Regency! Originally, the hotel only needed meeting rooms to be captured, but after investigating their website further, we did a complete refresh of their guest rooms as well since they've introduced 65 inch TVs into their rooms!

Since this hotel is located nearby an Ivy League University (boo to Princeton University), you know that my favorite meeting room was the Cornell University room, the university I graduated from. :) Go Big Red!

Keeping the theme of Detroit, I headed over for a partial shoot of the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Detroit Southfield. Ownership needed a refresh of their public space and boy, did it shine! I also was able to capture a few ADA guest rooms for the hotel's turnover to the Power of M.

This time, I headed over to the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Detroit Metro Airport Romulus. When I look at a hotel online, I try to ensure I quote EVERY amenity at a hotel no matter how large or small. For this hotel, an airport shuttle is vital as an amenity especially at the very busy Detroit Metro Airport (DTW).

Separately, I'm really starting to enforce photographing many unique images in the accessible guest rooms especially with Marriott International's changeover from FOSSE/Lightspeed to Power of M. Every hotel guest room needs unique imagery.

What amenities do you find valuable that would be great to have an image of?

Across the parking lot from last Friday's Hampton by Hilton Detroit Troy is the Hilton Garden Inn Detroit Troy. One thing that you might notice in all of my hotel photo shoots is photographing a reverse angle of a room. While these shots never look the "prettiest", it gives valuable information to the guest on what they can expect when they walk into the room. How much room do I have to put my suitcases, are there amenities not mentioned, what am I paying for with this room type, etc.

What do you think about my strategy on reverse room shots?

For every customer that I photograph for, I'm the one quoting your hotel. Every now and then you make an assumption about how a space is going to look (or not look because there are no existing photos).

In this instance, I photographed the Hampton by Hilton Detroit Troy and one of the very first shots of the shoot due to an impending rainstorm within a few hours was their outdoor patio. If you want to talk about a really cool space at a Hampton, this is it! Look at how large and fancy it is! Everything came together at the right time with the sun. Absolutely beautiful.

Headed back to Connecticut to photograph the Hilton Garden Inn Hartford South/Glastonbury. Loving the design and open closet. Their suites are also pretty cool.

I asked the hotel team if this was a purpose built by Hilton because I found a strange feature that you don't normally see. Specifically, this hotel has a public stairwell in the breakfast area/lobby that makes for a perfect place for wedding groups and others. The answer was an emphatic yes. Next time you're in the Cleveland area, check out the Hampton Inn & Suites Cleveland-Southeast/Streetsboro!
