"The Bucket List"
Red Squirrel, Tenants Harbor, Maine, 06/03/26.

Good morning, Tuesday! Sometimes the Tuesday after a three-day weekend is like a Monday on steroids. An "extra day off" may be nice, but many pay a heavy price for it. Please remember to be kind to those people working in customer service today.

Like many others, that extra day has put more pressure on me to get my "to-dos" done. Patience and good timing will be key. That, and deciding what can be left until Wednesday.

There are lots of things we can put off for a day or a week, but there comes a time when we must pull the trigger and get them done, or realize that they weren't that important and resign ourselves to them never getting done. There comes a time in life when it might be too late. So, if there's something you really want to do, put it higher on the list, put a longer-term but detailed plan in place, or cross it off. In crossing it off, you might just change your mind and pick one of the other choices.

This week, my "to-dos" include buttoning up other things so I can chase a weather-permitting bucket list item. Because I didn't already have enough to do... (sarcasm). Every day is a blessing!
Make your day great!

Good morning, Monday! I'm feeling lots of gratitude this morning for the people who have come into my life! This morning, the rest of a goal came together with the assistance of two of them whom I've met in the past two years. I'm feeling blessed!
We all think of angels as those who have departed this life, but there are angels among us. That's who our friends are...

Bow of the F/V Western Wave with new bling, Rockland, Maine, 9/1/26.

Good morning, Sunday! I have a history with this particular boat that I share with two wonderful women I'm grateful to still call friends after over 50 years. Their father had a company out of Gloucester, MA, called Western Ocean Resources, located on the waterfront near where Gortons is now. She still spends time in Gloucester. (one of my favorite places...)
My father was her captain for a time back in the 70s. So, when I was out taking pictures at sunrise, the new paint on her bow abruptly turned my head. Here's what the new bling looks like. This is as far as I dared reach over the water with my camera. I love the lobster with fish in the claws!

Has it changed hands, or has someone just gotten creative? Curious minds like to know...
Once you've had history with a boat, it'll always be part of you...

Razorbill, Machias Seal Island, 6/16/26.
"Razorbill Ready!" I'm at Harbor Park in Rockland today,10-3.

Good morning, Saturday! Notice the little spike-looking things on the roof of the bill. That's what helps keep lots of fish in the beak when they go to grab another one. This is what makes the Razorbill ready for fishing...

Well, I'm almost ready. I still have two hours before I have to leave the house. September is going to be a busy month. I've spent the past couple of weeks putting things in order and preparing for it. I wanted to start this morning off by saying thank you all so very much for coming along for the ride with me. It's been three years since my original page was stolen, and I'm grateful to each and every one of the followers who found me again, and to everyone who just found me and decided to follow along the way. I appreciate all of the kind words and comments! They inspire me in so many ways.
Thank you!

F/V Sea Reaper leaving the Fish Pier, Rockland Harbor, Maine, 9/1/26.

I'll be in Harbor Park, Rockland, Maine tomorrow from 10-3. My tent will be at the end by the Harbormaster's building.

Good morning, Friday! On Tuesday morning, I didn't go to a spot where I could see the sun crossing the horizon. I went to a spot where I could see the clouds and their reflections. I posted the "big view" yesterday. There were several views within that big view. I posted seagull silhouettes the day before. This is the view I saved for today.
I could hear the engine running when I was photographing "the big view", and rather than moving and trying to get more pictures from a different location, I waited. When I saw her lights moving in front of the pier, I switched to the camera with the longer lens on it. This is what I was waiting for. Sometimes we have to imagine what we want (to see) and believe it'll happen. I didn't manifest it. It's just what happens when a boat leaves the wharf to go lobstering. Their goal isn't to sit there idling. They're there because they're going to "get at it".
If your big picture has become busy and a bit overwhelming, break it down into smaller views and decide which one you want to focus on. Make your day great!

Good morning, Thursday! Having seen the forecast, I saved the additional pictures I took on Tuesday to post on a gray day (or two). I thought someone might need a little something extra to bring them cheer. Gray days can be gloomy. They can also be glorious if you're looking forward to an excuse to stay inside, or you're just stuck inside regardless. We need the rain, and I'm grateful not to have to water my green beans. Plus, I'd rather have it now than over the weekend. I've got a tent to set up!

Monarch on Butterfly Bush, my dooryard, Owl's Head, Maine, 8/26/26.

Good morning, Wednesday! Right now, this very moment at 5:30 AM EST, my heart wants to be on the waterfront taking pictures of this sunrise. I fear it may be the last pretty one we have for a few days. But the forecasts aren't always accurate, so I'm doing what I think is the right thing to do for myself. I'm home. I went out yesterday AM, took some awesome pictures, and didn't end up accomplishing what I had planned. I have faith that's okay. Well, it'll have to be. I did manage to get a couple things ready for this next "to-do." It's a big one. Just think about the process the butterfly goes through to get it done...Today's a new day, and I rise with purpose.

Morning Affirmation- Sam Wysock-Wright.
With hand on your heart, take a slow, deep breath, then say out loud...
I am safe. I am ready. I am open.
Good things are flowing toward me.
I trust the timing. I trust the process. I trust myself.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Happy September, everyone!
Looks like nature gave us a preview of the colors to come. Maybe? What a beautiful start to the month!

F/V Ocean Reaper, Breakwater Lighthouse, Rockland Harbor, Maine, 9/1/26.

Good morning, Tuesday! This is one of the last pictures I took this morning. I left the waterfront moments before the sun came over the horizon. The tones that were once shades of rose had turned to gold. I don't often adjust the vibrance or saturation in an image. However, this time I made an exception and actually turned it down. At full strength, it just didn't look real. I look forward to posting the earlier pictures later in the week. If the forecast is correct, we might have some rain on the way. We'll see...

For over a decade, I sold Toyotas. Two of the stores (with the #9 & #10 volumes in the U.S.) moved well over 500 cars a month and had over 50 salesmen. They required us to go to training every month. I heard a lot of grumping from men who didn't want to go. Some of the classes were taught by world-class trainers who traveled the U.S. teaching. Much of it was boring or redundant, but I liked going because I could always find one priceless "nugget of gold" in the process. Some of that gold still shines within me today.

Not all of our days are completely awesome. But if you focus on that one spot in it that is the "nugget of gold", life is better.
