A day of community, family fun and stories worth remembering.

I’m excited to be part of the Community Picnic at the Marion Grange this Saturday! There will be vendors, food, raffles, face painting, live music and games for all ages.

I’ll be there as Merlin Photography sharing how I help families and high school seniors create portraits that feel personal, relaxed and meaningful. I’ve also donated a Storybook Portrait Experience basket to the raffle.

If you’re coming, stop by and say hi. I’d love to meet you!

Location scouting today for one of my Hometown Heroes Portrait Project families.

I’m looking for more than a pretty background. I’m looking for beautiful light, a calm setting, clean backgrounds and space for real family connection.

This project is about gratitude, legacy and creating something meaningful for the people who love and support our local heroes.

This week, I’m specifically looking for 2 military or veteran families.

As part of the Hometown Heroes Portrait Project, I’m selecting a few local heroes or hero families to photograph in June in time for Independence Day.

This project is my way of saying thank you and creating something meaningful for families to have for years to come.

You do not need to be in uniform to participate. A portrait can include meaningful service items, medals, a hat, dog tags, photographs, a spouse, children, grandchildren, or simply the people you love most.

Each participating hero receives a personalized planning appointment, portrait session experience and a gifted custom acrylic block award as my thank-you.

If you know a military or veteran family who would value a meaningful portrait experience and finished artwork for their home, please message me with the word HERO.

Today, we remember.

Memorial Day is a day to pause and remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their courage, sacrifice and legacy deserve to be honored not just today, but always.

My heart is with the families who are remembering someone they love today.

We remember. We honor. We are grateful.

Today, I’m thinking about our local EMTs and first responders.

They are often the ones running toward the moments most of us hope we never experience. They show up quickly, calmly, and with courage when someone else is in crisis.

Your work matters. Your sacrifice matters. Your families’ support matters too.

To our EMTs and first responders, thank you. Thank you for serving, responding, protecting and caring for our community.

This is part of why I created the Hometown Heroes Portrait Project, to honor the people in our community whose service and sacrifice deserve to be remembered.

If you know an EMT or first responder who deserves to be honored, message me with the word HERO or tag them below.

This is what the beginning of forever feels like.

An engagement session is such a beautiful way to pause in the middle of the excitement and celebrate this season before the next chapter officially begins, when everything still feels new, exciting, and full of possibility.

For many couples, an engagement session is their first time being photographed together in a way that truly celebrstes their love. And that matters.

These portraits become more than pretty images. They become a reminder of how this season felt, the laughter, the nerves, the closeness, the joy, and the love that started it all.

Years from now, they'll be able to look back and remember not just what they looked like, but what it felt like to be here, right at the beginning of forever.

Congrulations Shannon & Garrett!
