It’s official! I am starting Day 1 of 50. This years theme is “Listen To What You See” ~ Being a person who is in constant search for solace and stories with my art; looking for ways to use my love of trees, the ocean and wandering mixed with the ways I create with paper to it express it all. Listen To What You See is an exploratory journey creating paper assemblage pieces to show the way I see the nature world around me and its story. By using snapshots taken by camera or memory and creating a paper assemblage piece that reflects what I am hearing in the image, the tallest tree, the calmest ocean or the loudest flower.

I am super excited to be embarking on my 6th 50/50 series. Shocked and amazed I get to hang my art with my fellows artist for the show in September, it’s going to be a full of art kinda of summer.

Been working on this strangely familiar piece for some time now. Getting ready for an exciting few weeks ahead of me (more to come on that announcement) and just having fun creating.

Juror Jeff Raz, founder, Citizen Joy, will speak about the origins of the exhibiton and the spirit and additional actions being taken by Citizen Joy. Following this introduction, we will walk the gallery and artists in the show will share about their work.

I am super proud and honored that my piece One Universe Under Goddess was accepted into “O Say Can You See” opening this Friday night at Sanchez Art Center!

Sanchez Art Center and Citizen Joy are collaborating on O Say Can You See to showcase art that shows our determination to create a future together that’s worthy of our hopes and dreams. We invite artists to submit works that embody and envision their aspirations for the future of our country and its peoples, (re)imaging what we can be.
The exhibition will run from May 29 to June 28 in anticipation of the July 4, 2026 Semi-quincentenntial - the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
