this place has housed so many stories. stories of hopes, dreams and possibilities but then unpredictable setbacks. covid. delays turned to astounding grief that i didn’t realize was possible. and for many, many years. but then love came in. and hope crept back.

a little sage, a little paint.

the studio is a place i dreamed about for nearly a decade. large windows with all the light, warmth surrounded by nature, year round. a backdrop that never needs to be rolled up or cut off. timeless pieces for timeless galleries.

toying with the idea of Mother’s Day sessions May 1 followed by Father’s Day sessions June 1.

knows you better than anyone. will make you laugh until you cry but also cry until you laugh. will stand beside you, defend you, cut you down, pick you right back up, and ultimately love you. the keeper of your secrets and the one you go to before anyone else.

another family i’ve had the immense pleasure of knowing and photographing since they were still getting big girl teeth! now with their gorgeous smiles and perfect hair and expressions overflowing, i never know what I’m going to get but it’s consistently humorous and a good time!

i’m ready for all the creek session this summer — bring a change of clothes; i provide the towels and warm up space, after
you’ll need it!

the buddies got involved… per my previous post, this is the muddy-silty-wet portion! we included the boys for a few but mostly they were off exploring and splashing, throwing rocks and playing in the sand, and truthfully not really listening but hey — when you’re in my presence for a session, there really are no rules! come and do and play and just be and i will be there to capture it all.

absolute girl party 🌸 i love each of these beautiful souls for all sorts of reasons. my own girls love them equally, if not, more! teammates, “big sister” types, bffs, nevertheless ALL LOVE for these beings!

i know, i know… if you know these young ladies, you’re likely wondering where the rest of the gang is. having a partner that is gone 50/50 of the time, makes for improvised situations. but, nothing wrong with a mama session! a mother can never be in enough pictures with her kiddos. say that again with me — and selfies don’t count!

we played at the creek on this summer afternoon; got a little muddy, little silty, a little wet (ok, some were SOAKED) but fun was had. looking forward to many more creek sessions this summer — adventuring, splashing, picking fireweed and photographing any and all that come for the camera.

this senior came prepared! we had so much fun in the studio, photographing her & her most prized possession. personalizing your senior session is really what it’s all about.

i’ve known this young lady since those kindergarten years, oh so long ago. instantly connected with her sweet mama and here we are, in disbelief: how’d we get here so fast?!

comic books, novels, drawing pads, outfit changes, laughter, ease, stuffed animals and her mama. i love sessions like this so very much.

thank you for this day. so proud of you, Whit 🖤💚

These are the kind of sessions I would shoot every day, if able! We celebrated this wee one’s 2nd birthday with some play at her grandma & grandpa’s farm.

Was a typical Alaskan “summer” afternoon — moody skies, hoodies, a stiff upper lip haha when it comes to navigating our summertime weather.

Karen! We need a remake of this session! I think your darling is going on 4-5 now?!
