I'm stunned to look at the calendar today and see we're approaching the end of February so soon! The winter months have always carried a predictable hibernation phase for me- slow, quiet, and reflective. I put the camera down and use my hands instead to paint and craft. The last 2 months however have enlightened me and kept a camera in my hands celebrating a wonderful and totally unexpected winter baby-boom. In this, I can't help but notice such a life chapter goes perfectly in hand with the energy of late-winter.
We forget that it's in December where the sunlight actually begins to return and the days grow longer. ☀️
Out the windows of Vinny's January session, the landscape rested under freshly fallen snow. Everything was drenched in golden sun. I remember pulling into the Catania family's driveway this day and thinking how beautiful and alive everything felt. It was MLK day, and I saw kids home from school playing in the winter sun the whole drive. Just like a new family takes their time to rest, and get their bearings, there is a whole world just as much on its way to bloom with color, vibrations, mudpies, and surprise.
