When I arrived for this session, I learned that these love birds had quietly said “I do” earlier that morning.

What I thought would be an engagement session became something even sweeter — photographs from their very first day as husband and wife.

We take so many pictures of our babies as they grow — but sometimes we forget to step into the frame with them.

One day, the pictures of everyone looking at the camera will be treasured.

But I have a feeling the ones of Great-Grandma reading a book, everyone laughing, and a baby being completely herself will be treasured even more.

These are the photographs that become part of a family’s story.

A little before + after editing magic. 🤍

Taking the photo is only the beginning.

After every session, I spend time carefully editing each image — adjusting light, color, skin tones, and all of those little details that turn what comes straight out of my camera into the finished photographs you receive.

My goal isn’t to make your photos look overly edited or change what was really there. It’s to keep them natural, soft and true to you — just a little more beautiful. 🤍

Because you’re not just investing in the few minutes I’m behind the camera. You’re investing in everything that happens after, too.

Some love just feels like home. 🤍

The laughter. The quiet moments. The way two people look at each other when they’ve found the person they want beside them through it all.

I loved getting to document a little piece of this season for these two as they prepare to say “I do.”

Because an engagement session isn’t really about posing for pictures.

I have a few late-summer dates open. 🤍

As the person who is usually behind the camera, I know how easy it is to realize that months — or even years — have passed since everyone was actually in the same picture.

This one of my own family is from a couple of years ago. I actually set my camera up on a tripod and took it myself because I wanted all of us in the picture — and looking at it now is such a reminder of how quickly things change.

So if you’ve been saying, “we really need to get family pictures done…” this might be your sign.

I have room for 2–3 sessions before my calendar fills up.

Right now, it’s simply time spent with Grandma — giggles, cuddles, playing together and being little.

But years from now, these photographs will hold a piece of a childhood they can’t go back to and a relationship they’ll never want to forget.

There’s something so beautiful about the waiting. 🤍

The little kicks. The tiny clothes waiting to be worn. The first glimpses of a face you already love so much.

Maternity photos aren’t just about remembering how you looked while carrying your baby. They preserve all of the little details surrounding this season — the anticipation, the excitement, and the love that was already there before you ever held them in your arms.

One day these tiny clothes will be packed away and that ultrasound picture will be a memory of just how small he once was.

But photographs let us hold onto a little piece of the waiting. 🤍
