Funny enough, I didn’t really know this whole story before doing this tattoo.

While I was tattooing it, I put on a sermon about Daniel 3 and learned the story as I was putting it down.

Basically King Nebuchadnezzar was a big jerk. He built this giant gold statue and told everybody they had to bow down and worship it or get thrown into a furnace.

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego basically said… yeah, we’re not doing that.

So the king gets pi**ed, cranks the furnace up 7 times hotter and throws them in.

Then he looks in and goes… wait a minute, didn’t we throw THREE dudes in there? Because there were FOUR walking around in the fire.

They walked out without being burned, their clothes weren’t scorched, and they didn’t even smell like smoke.

Pretty wild learning the story while actually tattooing it.

But the part that really stuck with me was this:

God didn’t keep them from getting thrown into the fire.

He met them in it.

I think a lot of us need that reminder. Just because you’re going through the fire doesn’t mean God left you there alone. 🔥🙏
