Happy 4th of July!! Fun fact- I used to sing for the USO! I loved this job! I had the privilege of meeting so many incredible men and women serving our country. 🇺🇸🌟 It was such an honor to perform for them! I hope everyone had a wonderful day!!

I know the thing that stops people from booking is usually not the wanting-to part.

It’s the back-and-forth-to-find-a-date part. The ‘I’ll email and wait and figure it out eventually’ part that just never quite happens.

So here’s how simple I’ve tried to make it:

Some sessions are about beautiful photos. Others are about holding onto time.

This sweet pup was recently diagnosed with cancer and has only a few months left. When his family contacted me about capturing memories together, it was an immediate YES.

The love between a family and their dog is something truly special. My hope is that these images will bring comfort, smiles, and a reminder of all the joy he brought to their lives for years to come. ❤️🐾.

Here’s something I think about a lot with summer sessions: the outfits never date the photos.

Light colors, flowy dresses, simple linen - that look is timeless. It doesn’t scream ‘this was taken in a specific season.’ It just looks beautiful.

You can hang it on your wall in January. In April. In July the following year.

Compare that to a very specific Christmas palette that immediately places your photo in December 2023. Don’t get me wrong, I love a holiday session, but it’s not as versatile on your walls year-round.

But summer gives you images that stay current forever.
That’s worth something!! ☀️

Someone said to me recently that summer goes fast - and I know, I KNOW, we say that every single year.

But every single year it’s still true.

I took a real look at some photos from last summer the other day and felt it in my chest a little. They looked different. They always do.

We can’t slow any of it down. But we can stop long enough to remember what it looked like. 🤗

Family photos aren’t really about the photos.

They’re about stopping long enough to say – this is us, right now, in this season of life. The ages they are today. The way they still reach for your hand. The way your family looks when everyone’s actually laughing at the same time.

That’s what ends up hanging on the wall. That’s what you’ll be glad you have.

Just a little reminder that it matters. 😉😊
