I can’t speak for anyone else, but the last few years has been a whirlwind. To me and those closest to me, they have brought both great joys and profound sorrows.
We have seen so much death. We have borne the burden of surviving our peers, our mentors, and our best friends. We have fought to be whole, to live in their honor, and to protect the legacy they have left behind.
We have had our rights taken, our boundaries challenged, and our limits tested. We have been asked to give our whole selves and then asked yet again to give more.
We have been changed, and in the last few years, I have come to accept a great many things. That I am flawed, we all are, and while the journey to grow should never end, it is okay to celebrate the stumbles along the way. I have learned to be at peace with my heart, to face imperfection and rejection, to be kinder in the face of war, to stand up again when I am down, and above all, to smile through defeat.
Today, I love myself, for all the things I am bad at, the ways I wish I was different, the ugliest sides of my heart and the things I still don’t know how to improve.
Today, I am grateful for the journey, the people, the lessons. I am grateful for the spirit that remains among us, to fight, to breathe, to be.
In 2023 I’m making a resolution for all of us, to rise with grace and foster the strength to face any challenge the world has to throw at us.
In 2023 and beyond, I am going to help you love yourself a little more. To be more fearless and unapologetic. To be a little more brave and a lot more honest in your self expression. If you have an experience to share and a life to celebrate, DM me- accepting a couple participants for a personal project in the works, honoring 2022 rates in exchange for being able to tell your story 💕
