STATE GAMES RECAP

Women NCPVC vaulters showed out at the California State Games at UC San Diego this weekend. From the youngest crew to our upperclassmen, this team left it all on the runway, podium finishes and a whole lot of double-digit heights over the bar.

Every jump, every fist pump, this is what the work looks like when it pays off. So proud of this group and the way they compete for each other.

Tomorrow’s the day | The North County Pole Vault Club is heading to the California State Games at UC San Diego, and our athletes are ready to take things to new heights… literally.

San Diego decided to throw us a little heat wave, but that’s okay we’re already used to being closer to the sun than everyone else.

Our goals for tomorrow:
- Run fast.
- Jump high.
- Clear bars.
- Stay hydrated.
- Try not to become human raisins.
- Eat Ice Cream.

We’re excited to watch our vaulters compete, cheer each other on, and have a blast doing what they love. Whether you’re competing, coaching, volunteering, or just coming to cheer, we’d love to see you there!

And remember…
Pole vaulters always know how to raise the bar.
(Yeah… we went there.)

Good luck to all the athletes competing this weekend! Let’s make it a day to remember!

Another season of gymnastics portraits is here!

This year we’re booking sessions in August 2026, before the school year and holiday rush, so it’s easier for every family to take part. Any day of the week, any time of day, whatever works best for you.

Here’s where you come in: swipe to the last slide and scan the QR code to take our quick scheduling survey. Tell us which days and times fit your family best. The more preferences we collect, the easier it is to coordinate sessions that work for everyone, so please take a moment to fill it out!

Sessions happen at Bookabl Studios in Oceanside, CA. Gymnasts wear their competition Leos against a clean white backdrop, and you’ll receive edited digital files from an online album to print wherever you like.

Our son completed NSI training and is now officially an NROTC Midshipman, Marine Corps Option.

In the Corps they call new guys “Boots.” Apparently new Midshipmen rank BELOW that. They’re called “Shower Shoes.” Yep, my son spent weeks getting yelled at just to achieve the rank of a dollar-store flip-flop. His mother and I have never been prouder. 🇺🇸🇺🇸

Welcome home, son. You left as our boy and returned as a certified footwear. The hug at the airport was manly. The tears were allergies. Congrats Baby boy we love you and we’re incredibly proud. Now take out the trash and show us your new skills as a professional Janitor before you head out to school!

I went to Canyon Crest expecting a pole vault meet, instead I witnessed Cannon launch himself into orbit.

Happy 250th birthday, America!

Today my son called from Great Lakes, Illinois, where he’s grinding through New Student Indoctrination (NSI) as a USMC Midshipman Candidate.

His take on it: “Now I see why you call this place ‘Great Mistakes.’”

Same joke I made 20+ years ago. Still lands exactly the same.

Summer Season starts NOW. North County Pole Vault Club is kicking things off with our first club meet of the season, and it’s about way more than clearing a bar.

Today, athletes who’ve trained on different days, at different times, are finally meeting face to face. Parents who’ve cheered from afar are meeting the rest of the NCPVC family in person. This is the day our club becomes a team.

Because here’s the truth: talent clears bars, but chemistry wins seasons. The clubs that go furthest aren’t always the most talented, they’re the ones who trust each other, push each other, and show up for each other. Today we start building that foundation, shared identity, shared pride, and a shared goal heading into competition season.

So, whether you’re a veteran vaulter or stepping onto the runway for the first time, introduce yourself. Cheer for a teammate you just met. Celebrate every PR like it’s your own. This is how we go from individual athletes to one unified club.

Let’s vault into summer together and get some boba and Ice Cream!
