I could not agree more! Enjoy the day! Your flower girl may pick her nose. The aisle runner may not be straight. Everyone in the world who should be there on time will be late. But, who cares? You are marrying the love of your life. Enjoy this moment because, if you're like me, it's the day your whole world changes.

I've been a wedding photographer for 5 years. I've photographed young couples, old couples, straight couples, gay couples, Christian couples, Jewish couples, affluent couples, budget couples, and yet one thing remains the same. People are most beautiful when they laugh.

Resolutions are everywhere this time of year. A whole lot of "New Year, New You" advertising campaigns make us feel like this is the time to reinvent ourselves but I heard something intriguing on the radio and I'm doing it this year.

Chose a word. One word. That will be the theme of your year. My word is balance.

Many of you have seen my post regarding no longer doing portraiture. Last year was amazing. I photographed many families and weddings and events and I am so grateful to each one of you who have hired me to document a time in your life. I have not picked up my camera since the beginning of December, not even to photograph my own family, and I've been more present and appreciative of what is right in front of me. That's not to say that I no longer have a passion for seeing life through the lens but the business of it all completely consumed me and left absolutely no time for my family. I will still continue to shoot events and weddings but I will not be actively marketing or seeking new business. I do, however, sincerely appreciate your referrals so keep those coming!
