Yesterday I found out about Matt’s passing and I was crushed. I first met Matt at CKRC in Reno around 2016. We soon became friends and I would frequent his garage to work on the RC crawlers. He was one of the nicest guys you would ever meet and would do everything in his power to help you if he could.

The list of RC events I attended with Matt is so long and I have so many great memories and stories it’s crazy. From multiple Axialfast’s, ASD Crawls, Crawl 4 Cures, Proline By The Fire and trips to the Rubicon.

I shot this photo of Toyota back in 2017 at the ASD crawl at Frank Raines OHV park. While everyone was partying back at camp at midnight I snuck away with his truck and shot this photo. I came back to all the guys so drunk they were passing around an electric fly swatter telling each other to lick it. Such good times.

Had to take the VRD Carbon out after work before I pull it apart. After running it for the first time yesterday and doing a few lines today I now know the few things I want to do to tune it. This thing is so much fun and capable it’s crazy.

Today I attended the Sacramento Cone Dodgers comp crawl and man did I have a blast. I don’t think I have comp crawled in over 4 years so I was a little nervous driving a truck I had just built and never tested. I was able to finish 3 of the 4 courses with little issues but that last course really kicked my ass. I can’t tell you how amazing the Vanquish VRD Carbon really is. Now I know what I need to adjust for next time. Huge thanks to for running the show I will definitely be at the next one.

The brand new Vanquish Fordyce VS4-10 showed up in the mail yesterday. Today I got to take it out for its first adventure. Hands down the best RTR out of the box and I can’t tell you how fun it was driving an RC again. It’s been too long.

Opening day of the new disc golf course in Columbia. What a day! I can’t tell you how grateful I am to have the opportunity to help design and install this course that’s basically in my backyard. First thank you Chris Graham and Troy Carle for doing all of the back end work and then letting me just go at it. Wes Webster and Channel Thompson for helping me work the kinks with the layout. Andrew Davidson for helping with his trailer and getting a lot of our supplies from Lowe’s. Evan Anders for helping me dig holes to place sleeves. At this point the easy stuff is done. Now we are onto the hard part installing permanent tee pads. Thanks again to everyone that came out today to play the course. Much love.
