“It sucks when your career is considered someone else’s hobby…” Photographers and stand up comedians have more in common than you’d think! It’s a performance. If you have pride in your work… if you find meaning in your job, I genuinely want to hear all about it. And I want to capture you with my camera while you’re feeling all that pride and meaning. Confidence looks good on everyone. Here’s a portrait of a member of the Genoa Historical Association inside a threshing barn originally built in 1810. Disassembled and moved to its current location and reassembled 40 years ago, the building stands as an example of how early pioneer wheat farmers processed and stored wheat during the harvest. With two large openings on either side (providing spectacular natural light for portraits) the cross breeze that blew through the structure was a key element used to brush 🧹away the chaff once it was separated from the wheat. 🌾 Ingenious, effective design if you ask me. Sort of like a 19th c Roomba.
