Your kids don’t need to perform for the camera.

They don’t need to sit perfectly, smile on command, or “act right” for the photos to be beautiful.

Actually, the best photos usually happen when they stop trying to be perfect and start feeling safe enough to be themselves.

The messy giggles.
The snuggles.
The movement.
The tiny personalities that make your family your family.

That’s what I’m looking for.

I could have found a hundred reasons not to go.

Too much money.
Too much work to catch up on.
Too much time away.
Too much happening at home.

But I went anyway.

And I’m so glad I did.

Being in a room full of people who are also building, stretching, learning, doubting, and showing up reminded me of something I needed:

The investment is not just in the experience itself.
It is in the person you become because you said yes.

Whether it is education, rest, portraits, artwork, or something else entirely — the things that matter rarely feel convenient at first.

But they do matter.

And sometimes the thing you keep putting off is the very thing that brings you back to yourself.
