Three years ago today, I lost my dad.
This photo means a lot to me because it wasn't taken during some big event or milestone. We were simply testing out new photography equipment together, experimenting with lighting and seeing what we could create. Looking back now, I'm grateful we took the time to capture moments like this.
My dad taught me far more than photography. He taught me the value of patience, treating people with kindness, working hard, and always trying to improve at whatever you do. Those lessons continue to shape not only the person I strive to be, but also how I approach every client and every session. Photography has a way of freezing moments that someday become priceless memories. At the time, you never realize just how much a photograph will mean years later.
Today, I'm remembering him, missing him, and feeling thankful for the time we had. If there's one thing I've learned, it's this: don't wait for the "perfect" occasion to get in the photo. The ordinary moments often become the ones we treasure the most.
Dad, you'll always be missed.
