✨Things change…

They really do. And the change is never expected but God knows His plan for me. My future is not mine to decide and with that comes an overwhelming sense of peace regardless of how hard this decision has been.

Reason 1:
These last couple years have been some of the hardest with family relationships, getting married and learning how to be the best wife I could be to my husband as well as juggling aspirations, social interactions and finding time to relax. The Lord presents certain challenges to make us stronger in Him and I have grown so much in my faith during those experiences. No one is perfect and I’m still learning.

When experiencing challenges during these past few years and overcoming them, philosophy begins to shift. We learn as we grow. Since my experience planning my own wedding, I started asking, “Why,” which is not a great position to be in as a wedding photographer.

Why do we do this… why do we do that… why is this so expensive… because when it boils down to it, all that matters is your MARRIAGE. Your wedding is ONE DAY, but your marriage is an EVERLASTING covenant with your Heavenly Father.

Don’t get me wrong, you should want your wedding to be beautiful, but I believe that we have landed in such a material society that the actual marriage is overshadowed. We care more about party favors and throwing the most memorable wedding that we forget why we’re actually there.

Reason 2:
When I first started taking pictures in 2020, I was SO excited to get myself out there. I was excited to find my style and work with the most amazing brides and grooms. I put time and money into building my business.

I started second shooting in 2021 with a photographer I really looked up to. I thought I had made it. She really taught me most everything I know about weddings. This whole story really couldn’t be told without her because she started as a mentor but quickly became a friend and we had so much fun. I could never be grateful enough to her.

2024 was the biggest wedding season I had ever had. I had a lot of experience under me at this point. I was ready to take it head on as the lead photographer.

Aubrey & Gabe

Get ready for some amazing sneak peeks from Aubrey and Gabe’s wedding! It’s hard to believe it’s already been a week. Time really does fly! They exchanged vows on a rainy day, but that didn’t dampen the magic of their special day. In fact, rain is supposed to be good luck, right? ;) It was such a privilege to be part of their wedding, which was made even more special by the fact that it took place in the bride’s childhood church (which also happens to be my church! ✨). I’m sending all my love and best wishes to the happy couple. May their love continue to grow and flourish, and may they always put God first. Congratulations, Aubrey and Gabe!

Congrats Caroline! Welcome to the class of the alumni! I can’t believe you are already graduating. It seems like yesterday I was junior and you were a freshman in the music department. How time flys! I know that wherever you end up you will do such great things! I can’t wait to see what you do next!🥂

Oh the places you’ll go! As you embark on this next chapter in your life, the only advice I would have for you is to never let the mundane become the thing you dislike the most. Just because something may not be exciting or the thing that we would like to be doing does not mean that we don’t have anything to be grateful for. There is so much joy in the smallest of things and I challenge you to hold on to those things.

Sneak peeks coming at ya with this gorgeous Downtown Chicago wedding! ✨

I am so so blessed to have been asked to capture this one. Elisa & Sam reached out to me a few years ago when my business was just getting off the ground and I would have never imagined at the time that they would come knocking at my door, asking me to capture them tying the knot! What a full circle moment!

First official engagement session of 2025 completed with this GORGEOUS church in Springfield, IL! We had plans to take photos in capitol downtown area but this was just it for these two 😍

You guys are literally PERFECT for each other! Aaron is Kelsey’s calm and Kelsey is Aaron’s adventure. And I’m sure you’ll have many more when you are husband and wife coming August 2025. I can’t wait to party with you at your wedding!!

God is so good all the time. He will always bring you the right person when the time is right ✨

A dad’s first glimpse of his daughter in a wedding dress might be one of the sweetest moment of the whole day! Sure, we all care about our grooms first reactions but you were HIS little girl first.

When you realize having a photographer who captures all of the real, 100% candid moments…

These happened right after they were pronounced man and wife. The genuine happiness and love for each other is so evident! I think that weddings have become a huge production and we aren’t always in the right mindset.

PSA brides: your wedding does NOT have to be stressful. There are so many people around you to lean on, whether that be your vendor team, bridesmaids or family. And just remember that you’re there for one reason only, to marry the man God has given to you. Everything else is just fluff and things.
