National Hot Dog Day. I'm a few days late for it, but I remembered I had photos from visiting the Howard County Fair several years ago. It was kind of surreal watching this regional Nathan's contest in person after watching the national one for years on tv.

National Donut Day is celebrated annually on the first Friday in June. The holiday was established by The Salvation Army in 1938 to honor the "Donut Lassies," the brave female volunteers who served fried pastries to soldiers on the front lines during World War I.
