There are few places in Northern California that offer the photographic variety of Point Reyes.
Within a relatively small area you’ll find dramatic coastal cliffs, sweeping ocean views, historic ranchlands, winding roads lined with Monterey cypress, and some of the most beautiful evening light in the Bay Area.
This Sunday I’ll be leading a small-group photography workshop through Point Reyes, helping participants learn how to see and photograph the landscape more effectively. We’ll discuss composition, light, exposure, and how to create images that communicate a genuine sense of place.
One of the reasons I return to Point Reyes again and again is that it rewards careful observation. The obvious photograph is often just the beginning. The more time you spend there, the more you discover.
After spending three weeks out-of-town, I’m especially looking forward to returning to one of my favorite landscapes here at home.
