“I see a [red] moon rising. I see trouble on the way”
— Creedance Clearwater Revival
The beautiful red 89.7% waning gibbous moon rises behind William Penn and the clock tower from over 5 miles away. If you swipe to the 2nd shot, you’ll see a wider view of the same shot with the Philly skyline.

Milky Way

“We walk up the beach under the stars. And when we are tired of walking, we lie flat on the sand under a bowl of stars... We are filled with stars, up to the brim.”
— Anne Morrow Lindbergh

For this shot, I captured the milky way at the end of the dunes so I could get clean, tracked shots. I then moved back down the path into the dunes to capture the foreground just before the moon rose.

Fairmount Park’s cherry blossoms from a different angle. As a photographer, I’m always looking for different angles. This is always a fun one bc you’re down on the ground looking up. I love the wildness of the trunks and limbs of these trees. Unfortunately, since my knee replacement, it’s a lot harder now that I can’t kneel on my left knee! Thank god for the articulating LCD screen on my Canon R6ii!

Do you have a favorite shot?

Philadelphia’s yoshino cherry trees along Kelly Drive in East Fairmount Park were in full bloom on Friday. It started out as a cloudy overcast day, but by the time I got to Kelly Drive, the clouds were moving out and sun came out. I love to capture the trees, but also love capturing some of the couples lounging on the grass under the blossoms or individuals taking in the sun and warmth with blossoms around them. This is the first of a few posts while I work my way through the photos.

It’s always hard to choose which photos to post b/c I love them all.
Which is(are) your favorite(s)? I know they are all variations of the same, but then again there’s something different about each one.

PATCO’s eastbound train makes its way over the Ben Franklin Bridge en route to Camden. While it looked great in color, the black and white version just pops! What do you think?
