Happy CNS & NPD Month!
17+ stories above Philadelphia, on the Penn Medicine Pavilion helipad, with incredible teams in front of my camera.
Team photos in a location like this come with a few challenges. No shade, plenty of light, and—at 17 stories up—a whole lot of wind.
To keep the Philadelphia skyline exposed while still lighting the team, I used a two-light Westcott setup: one on-camera flash (Westcott FJ80 II) acting as my host light and one off-camera light (Westcott FJ250), held by a very helpful friend who braved the wind with me.
The goal was to bring the light down just enough to properly expose the people without washing out the skyline—the part of these portraits that makes the location so special.
Of course, we captured the serious team portraits, but we had to make room for a little fun behind the scenes, too.
A pretty unforgettable morning on the helipad. More to come.
