Old City Santa has operated for nearly 10 years, so we’ve learn a lot along the way! These are a few techniques that we use to help children of all ages enjoy their photography session with Santa.
This is our first impression.
Mrs. Claus welcomes you into her private lodge! At this stage, the anticipation builds while children sing holiday songs, light the tree, and pen letters to The North Pole!
Mrs. Claus warms your children up for the big reveal: Santa Claus!
It’s normal for children to act shy, hyper, or upset. Mrs. Claus gets them into the holiday spirit while also reminding them that they’re appreciated. Family portraits never felt more exciting!
By the time your children meet Santa, the magic feels larger than life!
Time is everything.
When children are rushed, they feel discounted. That’s not the case at Old City Santa, where families have 1-hour for photos.
In most cases, children need more time to warm up and explore their surroundings. If your children need to pause, wait, or nap (for the younger ones), then we have time for that and we can still deliver beautiful photos.
Your completed questionnaire is our script.
Before the session, we’ll study it, so we can learn everything there is to know about your children.
If they’re scared, then they’ll soon be amazed when we know their teacher’s name or unique feature of their home. The questionnaire is a great tool to build a closer bond with your children.
As their parent, you know them best!
We move at the pace of your children.
At Old City Santa, we adapt to your children’s interests. If they would rather sing classic rock instead Christmas music, then we’ll change the radio. If they want to play with one of our antiques for a longer period of time, then they have that option.
While each session follows a similar formula, we let your children’s interests shape the experience.
