Crossed arms, dramatic body language, interesting angles. None of that can rescue a headshot with a dead expression or that classic “deer in the headlights” look.

We’ve all seen those photos where someone looks like a deer caught in headlights, but there’s another issue I see just as often: the overly squinty smile.

Wrinkles in your jacket, blouse, or shirt? That’s where a little bit of retouching comes in. We can clean things up and get the final image looking polished without you having to stress about every little crease.

So come prepared, of course. But don’t panic if your clothes aren’t absolutely perfect when you arrive.

Every now and then, a client brings an idea to the studio that makes me think, this is going to be fun. came back to me for an updated set of headshots after we first worked together nearly a decade ago, when I was just getting started in Philadelphia. She knew my style and wanted to see how we could take it in a more creative direction.

The final headshots still have the same style and approach I’m known for, but each one has its own distinct personality and feel. It’s a great example of how a headshot session doesn’t have to be one-size-fits-all.

Big shoutout to Nicolette Brycki Makeup for the hair and makeup. Absolutely crushed it.

No tie doesn’t mean no structure. For the guys going for a more business-casual headshot, a jacket and shirt without a tie can look fantastic, but the details matter.
