Sunset over Philly! The intense red and orange colors are caused by the sunlight traveling through a greater amount of atmosphere as the sun sets.

A foggy morning in Philly. The image is of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, a suspension bridge that spans the Delaware River. Opened in 1926, it was once the longest suspension bridge in the world.

The image shows a purple iris flower, possibly a German iris (Iris germanica) or a blue flag iris (Iris versicolor), covered in water droplets. The flower has three drooping petals, known as “falls,” and three upright petals, called “standards”.

This is a hermit ceab. Hermit crabs use abandoned snail shells to protect their soft abdomen. I found it while looking for shells along the beach. This was only slightly bigger than my pinky nail.
