There’s something about these first few weeks that feels like a blur while you’re living them.

You’re learning this brand new little person while running on very little sleep. Your days somehow revolve around feeding schedules, diaper changes and wondering when you last showered.

And meanwhile… they’re changing right in front of you.

The tiny legs start filling out. Their face changes. The newborn scrunch slowly disappears. The clothes you swore were way too big suddenly fit.

It’s why I’ll never stop telling new parents to take the pictures.

Not because you need to remember what the perfect wrap looked like or which little hat we chose.

Because someday you’re going to look at these and think, “How was he ever that small?”

And for just a second, you’ll get to go back.

There’s a version of you that existed before becoming a mom… and then there’s the woman you became because of it.

Your body changed to make room for someone you hadn’t even met yet. You carried them everywhere. Felt the first little flutters turn into kicks. Watched your belly grow while imagining the tiny face you’d soon get to see.

And somehow, in the middle of preparing for a baby, it’s easy to forget that this chapter belongs to you, too.

Maternity photos aren’t just about documenting the belly.

They’re about remembering the woman who carried your baby before anyone else could hold them.

The anticipation. The connection. The way your partner looked at you. The strength of a body doing something pretty incredible.

One day, that baby in your belly might be taller than you.

And I hope when you look back at these photographs, you remember exactly what it felt like when they were still completely yours.

There’s something about a brand new baby that makes you wish you could slow time down just a little.

The sleepy faces.
The tiny hands tucked under their cheeks.
The little rolls that somehow seem to appear overnight.
The way they curl up like they’re still trying to fit inside the place they called home for nine months.

And the wild part is that while you’re living it, you don’t always realize how quickly it’s changing.

One day you’re bringing home this tiny little person and learning every detail of them… and before you know it, the newborn clothes don’t fit and they don’t curl up quite the same way anymore.

That’s why I love these photos so much.

Not just because your baby looks beautiful in them, but because years from now, they’ll remind you just how little they really were.

There is something about newborn photos that will always have my heart.

Because when you’re in it, these days can feel endless. The feedings. The diaper changes. The tiny stretches at 2 a.m. The way they somehow fit perfectly against your chest.

And then, without asking permission, it changes.

Those little legs start to fill out. Their newborn clothes get packed away. They stop curling into that tiny ball when you pick them up. One day you realize they haven’t made that little newborn scrunch in weeks.

That’s the part I get to freeze for you.

The flaky skin.
The fuzzy shoulders.
The tiny toes.
The way their whole hand wraps around one of your fingers.
Exactly who they were when they were brand new.

I’ve photographed over a thousand newborns, and somehow it still isn’t lost on me that families trust me with something they can never get back.

You can’t redo the newborn stage.

But you can keep a little piece of it.

And I think that’s pretty incredible.

Parents of bigger babies what’s one tiny thing from the newborn stage you wish you could experience just one more time?

There’s something so special about getting to watch your babies grow through my camera.

From those sleepy newborn days to brand new milestones like sitting, smiling, crawling, and eventually celebrating that first birthday. I feel so lucky every time a family comes back and trusts me to capture another chapter.

The newborn stage goes by way too fast, but somehow every stage after it just keeps getting more fun.
