Keith L. Brown Trio at The Green Room by Crosstown Arts and Strictly Jazz.

Saturday night August 16, 2025 at The Green Room was pure magic.

Strictly Jazz Entertainment and Crosstown Arts presented a soul-stirring tribute to Mulgrew Miller featuring the phenomenal Keith Brown on piano, the masterful Neal Bowen on bass, and the ever-dynamic Henry Conerway III on drums. Memphis showed up and showed out for a night of deep swing, rich harmony, and pure improvisational fire. Big thanks to Crosstown Arts and Strictly Jazz Entertainment for curating a space where tradition meets innovation.

On February 11, 2025, The Green Room at Crosstown Arts transformed into a sonic sanctuary as saxophonist Rahsaan Barber and the Ted Ludwig lit up the stage with a genre-blending journey through jazz, blues, funk, and world music. From soulful melodies to electrifying improvisations, the night was a masterclass in musical storytelling.

Barber’s virtuosic tone met Ludwig’s fluid guitar lines in a performance that was both intimate and explosive. On piano was Alvie Givhan whose touch danced on on the keys. Holding down the low end with grace and groove was bassist CJ Manning , and driving the rhythm with finesse and fire was drummer James Sexton — an unforgettable evening for Memphis jazz lovers.

Throwback to a night of pure jazz alchemy at Nash Jazz Club ! On December 15, 2022, the Ethan Iverson Trio lit up the stage with a performance that was equal parts elegance, swing, and surprise.

Leading the charge was pianist and composer Ethan Iverson , whose touch on the keys danced between introspection and fire. Holding down the low end with grace and groove was bassist Chris Finet, and driving the rhythm with finesse and fire was drummer Arthur Vint .

A night to remember at The Nash Jazz Club ( )! On January 18, 2024, the legendary Miguel Zenón ( ) lit up the stage in Phoenix with his powerhouse quartet — and just weeks later, he took home a GRAMMY® for Best Latin Jazz Album for El Arte Del Bolero Vol. 2.

Lew Tabackin, flutist and tenor saxophonist, is an artist of astonishing vision. His electrifying flute playing is at once virtuosic, primordial, cross-cultural, and passionate. His distinctive tenor sax style includes the use of wide intervals, abrupt changes of mood and tempo, and purposeful fervor, all in the service of showing the full range of possibilities of his instrument - melodically, rhythmically, and dynamically.

Seven-time GRAMMY award winning Jazz trumpeter and composer Randy Brecker has helped shape the sound of jazz, R&B and rock for over six decades. His trumpet and flugelhorn performances have graced hundreds of albums by a wide range of artists from James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen and Parliament/Funkadelic to Frank Sinatra, Steely Dan, Jaco Pastorius and Frank Zappa. He attended Indiana University from 1963-66 studying with Bill Adam, David Baker and Jerry Coker and later moved to New York where he landed gigs with such prominent bands as Clark Terry's Big Bad Band, the Duke Pearson Big Band and the Thad Jones Mel Lewis Jazz Orchestra

Sungazer is an international Future Jazz duo featuring YouTuber / bassist Adam Neely and drummer Shawn Crowder. Originally formed in Brooklyn, NY in July of 2014, Sungazer has brought their unique blend of hard-hitting Jazz Fusion, 8-bit, Progressive Rock and EDM to audiences in the U.S. and Europe. Sungazer explores the human element of improvisation within the context of modern electronic music. Exciting, hard-hitting, and never predictable, Sungazer creates music aimed squarely ahead into the 21st century.

On October 11, 2021 they released their debut full-length album, Perihelion. The long-awaited debut LP explores time and the liminal spaces between jazz improvisation and modern electronic music aesthetics. The album was co-produced and mixed by Simon Grove (Plini, Protest The Hero, Intervals) and features an eclectic cast of guest musicians.

Memphis saxophonist, improvisor and composer Art Edmaiston’s voluptuous sound on the tenor saxophone is sculpted from years spent playing R&B and blues in Memphis.

Edmaiston creates forward-looking music while being fully present in the moment. Clark Gibson and his quintet performed the songs from his then soon to be released CD "Counterclock" at The Nash Jazz Club April 22, 2023.

"Counterclock" refers to looking back and not discounting art you created in your early stages as an artist. Gibson has come to embrace and celebrate his compositions from yesteryear.

The Milt Jackson Centennial Celebration at The Nash Jazz Club January 28, 2023.

Another top-tier Lewis Nash All-Star band celebrated the centennial of one of jazz’s most iconic vibraphonists, Milt Jackson. The band featured extraordinary vibraphonist Steve Nelson — who cites Jackson as his primary influence — along with stellar pianist Michael LeDonne (with whom Jackson played frequently), bass giant John Clayton and the ever-musical drummer, Lewis Nash

Milton Jackson, nicknamed “Bags”, was an American jazz vibraphonist. He is especially remembered for his cool swinging solos as a member of the Modern Jazz Quartet and his penchant for collaborating with hard bop and post-bop players. A very expressive player, Jackson differentiated himself from other vibraphonists in his attention to variations on harmonics and rhythm. He was particularly fond of the twelve-bar blues at slow tempos.
