YOUR HARDSHIPS MATTER!!

Something that has been eating at me lately is the dismissal of hardships. So many times I have heard people saying to myself and so many others, "Just be happy you have a job."

It's obvious 2020 was a s**t show. Everyone struggled with something whether it was losing a business, losing a job, losing a loved one, battling mental health issues, and so much more.

No matter what your hardship is, it matters. Just because you didn't lose your job doesn't mean you didn't struggle. Just because someone else has had a bigger struggle doesn't mean they can dismiss yours.

You can be mad, you can talk about it, and you can say, "2020 SUCKED" because for you, it did. Just know that whatever hardships this last year brought you, big or small in the eyes of the world, it's okay to feel that way.

Here's to a happier year!!

Decided to do Christmas a little different this year.

and I decided to make breakfast in our matching jammies and then head to for some relaxation. We obviously had to to take some photos while we were there.

This will definitely be a new tradition.

This is a reminder that your family photos don't have to be a chore. They shouldn't be something you want to "just get it over with".

Family photos are fun! Getting candid shots of your kids being themselves is fun!

Don't stress so much about everyone looking perfect and smiling their biggest, fake smile. Let them have fun and their real smiles will show! @ Bonneville Salt Flats

This mountain top wedding was small and intimate which made it that much more special for me to shoot.

These two were so fun to work with and were down to do whatever it took to get the shot!

I am taking today to be grateful for all of the awesome couples I have met and become friends with throughout the years I've been doing photography.

It's meee!

I haven't posted much about myself on my photography page so here is a story that will tell you a lot about who I am as a person.

I live in Arizona. I am from Utah. I travel back and forth frequently. The last time I was driving back home I accidentally drove to California.

Yes.. accidentally, but hear me out.

I usually take a different route home but this time I went through St. George to stop and see my dad. When I left his house I just put on my and was vibing waiting for my GPS to tell me my next move. Ya girl relies on GPS for these 10 hour trips.

I honestly was not paying attention to the time that had passed or the direction I was going. I had put all of my faith in that GPS and was just enjoying my podcast. So I get to the California Agriculture Inspection and thought, "Well that's not right" and looked at my phone to see where I was.

MY GPS WASN'T EVEN ON.
I pulled over, panicked, cried, and then laughed because I knew when I called my people to tell them they would just laugh at me too.

At this point I had two options. I could turn around and drive the rest of the way home or keep going and stay at my sister's place in Los Angeles. I called my sister, she laughed, and was excited that I made a mistake haha.

The drive to my sister's was a shorter trip than turning around so I just kept going. We called it a happy accident ☺

THESE TWO ❤

Sam and Hayden.
Their story was told so perfectly with this session.

They met while working at a Little Caesar's. Their relationship started in a blanket fort in their living room. Hayden proposed with the custom made Monopoly board with Boardwalk being the day they were engaged.

So of course their engagement photos would best display their love from the comfort of their home, in their blanket fort, eating pizza from the place they met. (Peep the Monopoly board in the background)

I'm so happy I could capture this part of their life for them and even more excited for the events to come! @ Blanket Fort
