During this season, a tranquil feeling of reflection emerges. As I carefully adorn my tree with ornaments, each one invokes memories of how we received them – be it a heartfelt gift or a creation by a beloved child. Do you have a favorite memory of a Christmas story, experience or ornament?

This week, I was tasked with assembling a selection of images featuring the Salt Lake Temple. I had gathered a few for a member to review. As I opened my image catalog and perused the collection, I was instantly transported back to the dates when I had captured these moments. Some days were bitterly cold, while others were simply perfect. One particular photo stood out to me because of the changing leaves and the crisp, cool air gently rustling them. I vividly recalled the stark contrast between the leaves and the ethereal glow of the temple. In that moment, my thoughts turned to the profound sacrifice of the Savior and His gift of the Atonement, which cleanses us from all our earthly mistakes. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to cherish these small yet spiritually enriching moments.

A Rightful Heritage — Mount Timpanogos Temple. Embracing our heritage with gratitude and love. Our roots run deep, connecting us to a legacy of faith, family, and service. Let's remember the principles that guide us and continue to spread the light of Christ.

As most of you are aware, I spent my childhood in Colorado Springs. This lovely city is nestled at the foot of Pikes Peak. The majestic Rockies and the tranquil plains will create a breathtaking setting for the House of the Lord! We are grateful to the Lord for His blessings upon us all.

Thomas S. Monson's quote beautifully emphasizes the significance of temples by saying:

"Each [temple] stands as a beacon to the world, an expression of our testimony that God, our Eternal Father, lives..."

In this part of the quote, President Monson is highlighting how temples serve as more than just physical structures. They are beacons, guiding lights that shine in the darkness of the world. They symbolize the belief that God is not an abstract concept but a living, loving, and eternal Heavenly Father. The existence of temples reaffirms the faith of believers and reminds them of God's presence in their lives.

"...that He desires to bless us..."

This part of the quote emphasizes God's desire to bless His children. Temples are places where individuals make covenants with God and receive sacred ordinances. These actions are seen as a means through which God bestows His blessings upon His faithful followers. It's a profound expression of God's love and desire to enrich the lives of His children.

"...and, indeed, to bless His sons and daughters of all generations."

President Monson concludes by emphasizing the universal and timeless nature of God's blessings. The temple ordinances are not just for one generation but are meant to bless all of God's sons and daughters throughout time. It underscores the eternal perspective of the LDS faith, where the blessings received in the temple are believed to extend beyond this life into the eternities, uniting families for eternity.

In summary, Thomas S. Monson's quote highlights that temples are powerful symbols of faith, God's desire to bless His children, and the eternal nature of those blessings, which are meant for all generations.

I've been thinking about the importance of the trumpet. When I was growing up, I had mixed feelings about it. It could be loud and overwhelming, even overpowering at times. But it was also versatile, able to play in different ways, pushing the beat forward and supporting the melody.

And then there's the fact that its beautiful sound can also serve as a warning. That loud blast makes everyone stop and pay attention to what's coming.

I'm grateful for the symbolism of Moroni and his trumpet. When I go to the temple, it reminds me to stay alert in my actions. Am I ready to listen to the spiritual "trumpets" in my life? My hope is that we all stay connected to those spiritual signals, so we can hear the cautions and protect ourselves from hidden dangers.

Within His Garden — Provo City Center Temple. “A garden requires patient labor and attention. Plants do not grow merely to satisfy ambitions or to fulfill good intentions. They thrive because someone expended effort on them.” How fitting when we go to the temple and participate in the ordinances and offerings the temple gives we are spiritually fed and given the bounty the Lord can and offers us.

I’ve been working on a collection for quite some time. This collection is called Celestial Gardens. I’ve been able to travel to several temples and have seen the beauty in the details. This collection is very special for me. To see these details, it teaches me that our Father in Heaven sees out details. What a blessing!

l’m thankful for the blessing of the Temple. This week, I had an opportunity to remember this image of the Gilbert Temple. This image was instrumental in working through a hard time. This image is one that I took a few years ago and I titled it “And He Shall Lead You By The Hand” I testify that he will indeed lead you through your hard times.
