Join me and other amazing photographers from the valley!

Known for its arid deserts and scorching temperatures, Arizona experiences a remarkable transformation during the monsoon season. This annual meteorological event, typically occurring from June to September, brings a dramatic change in weather patterns. This influx of moisture leads to the development of thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, haboobs (dust storms) and sometimes even flash floods. While the monsoons bring relief from the scorching heat, they also create dramatic landscapes and atmospheric conditions that are a dream for photographers.

The Arizona photographers included in this annual show, embrace the thrill of storm chasing during monsoon season, capturing the raw power and beauty of these massive weather systems from up close. Through their images and personal audio recordings, they tell their own unique story of nature's power, resilience and beauty.

Come explore the beauty and mystery of Arizona’s monsoon season through the eyes of some of the best local photographers.

Since today is World Photography Day here’s my favorite image I’ve captured this year. Taken at the end of June a few days after the North Rim reopened. Drove just over 1k miles in a day and a half and I did it all for this image alone. Such an incredible view. Enjoy!

So far I haven't been the slightest impressed with anything I've captured this year after covering a few thousand miles but when I see my friends capture epic images like this you know I'm a little jealous! At the same time you have to be stoked for them. Images like this are incredibly rare and even more difficult to capture with so many things to factor in. I didn't capture this but my friend Nicholas Boettcher did, one of the realest people I've met. Been following each other on Instagram for years and years so when we finally met a few weeks ago in the field completely random it was like we've known each other forever. At the end of the day we all win when a friend brings home images like this and that's what I love about the Arizona storm chaser community - we fuel each other, we try to one up each other and if we're not able to personally capture it you know damn well we celebrate when our friends do! This is my favorite image I've seen so far this monsoon season.

Where are my Dreamers at? I can’t even tell all of you how awesome the chase was yesterday! August is here and I decided to full send it to the best probable setup and pushed all the way to Lordsburg, NM where I was witness to the genesis of a massive haboob that engulfed the NM-AZ border and chased me home! And I finally got a shot of a haboob that I’m proud of! What a day!

My friend Storm Chaser Lori Grace Bailey is ABSOLUTELY killing it this year! Well, she kills it every year but this is incredible work! There is so much time planning, forecasting, driving and the need to be adaptable to get images like this. Please give her a follow! She's a huge inspiration of mine and we've been friends for over a decade!

I've been so busy and haven't stopped chasing in weeks! Yesterday was no exception and captured this incredible shot of lightning crossing through a rainbow near Sunsites, Arizona! Because of my new growth of this page, I have new followers saying that some of my photos are AI. I can tell you there are two things I despise today: AI and Flock Cameras. I do not and have never used AI in my captures and never will. This takes an incredible amount of dedication and perseverance to forecast, target, and position correctly to even get a small chance to capture a shot like this. I'm super proud of my work and love to be able to share with the world how beautiful it can be. I'm getting older and know that my time on earth is short. I want to capture as much of Earth's beauty as I can before I die. Yesterday I did just that! Now off to chase again!

Milky Way Monday! This was taken from my camp site a couple weeks ago in Northeastern Arizona. Got down to the low 30's that night. Full on winter gear near the end of May was awesome! So many stars were visible once the moon set. Enjoy!

It's that time of year again when the Cougar Shadow makes it's appearance on the Superstition Mountains. Here's a quick timelapse of it. Enjoy!
