Those who have followed me for years know I was trapped in my house when it flooded in 2020, so naturally I have a little bit of anxiety when storms get bad. Which is ironic because I actually LOVE storms. 😂

But today we unlocked a whole new fear...

Being stuck on a bridge, because a barge has it open, DURING A TORNADO WARNING. 🌪️⛈️

So much fun. Absolutely love this for me. 😂

And now I still have an hour drive home in thunderstorm weather.

What could possibly go wrong? 🙃

Mondays and Tuesday the studio is closed as these are my days for Grad School in person.

You never know what a moment will become.

Recently, I had the privilege of photographing a full family together. This was the sky that evening, during the short time I got to step into their world and capture their family as they are right now.

Today, one of those family members is preparing to cross over, and suddenly those photographs hold a weight none of us could have known they would carry so soon.

Mom and Dad. Kids. Grandkids. A kiss between two people who have shared a life together. A whole family in one place.

You never know when an ordinary moment will become one of the memories you hold onto the tightest. That is why photographs matter. They give us something tangible from a moment we can never get back.

My heart goes out to this family tonight. I am so grateful they trusted me to be there for that little piece of their story, and even more grateful that we captured these memories while we could. ❤️
