Hello! We learned and embraced the now-lost art of analog photography (you know, darkrooms and actual film).

We are Southern Exposure Photography + Design, the joint effort of two self-taught photographers, Miller and Jessica. Although we didn't know it at the time, SEPD was born eighteen years ago in our high school photography class. Miller even won a statewide contest with a creepy black and white image of a garden gnome. (We still like to laugh about this.) Throughout our college years, we were alway

s the ones carrying cameras like purses and wandering from the group to shoot something interesting. After graduating from Auburn University at the peak of the recession, we suddenly found ourselves with plenty of time to play around with digital cameras and photo-editing software. After lots of experimenting, a discouraging number of awful pictures, and an unhealthy amount of time spent muddling through Adobe's Creative Suite, we have decided that we're finally ready to be "professionals." Our Vision
Each image tells a story. That story might be tame and traditional, shockingly bold and fantastical, or anywhere in between. They capture your personality, your quirks, your flaws, your likes and dislikes - all the things that make you interesting. Our imaginations are boundless, decidedly overactive, and yes, some of our ideas might be a little weird. We would like nothing more than to brainstorm with you and come up with some really amazing ideas for your next photo shoot.
