i've watched more and more couples obsessing over making their weddings as 'timeless' as possible. currently, this translates to a strictly neutral color palette, white-only florals, and a vaguely minimalist aesthetic. they veer away from personal touches or incorporating their interests out of a fear of being seen as cringey or dated in the future.

but guess what? ironically, the obsession with neutrals, minimalism, and 'quiet luxury' is SO uniquely 2020s. you can't escape the inevitability of dating your wedding photos. and that's okay! don't follow a trend because you feel like you have to, but if you're really into something that's trendy now? embrace it!! for example: mismatched bridesmaid dresses may seem very 2025, but they were also huge in the 60s!

TDLR: time is a flat circle, so do what feels you + leave the rest.

throwing it back to this dreamy surprise proposal back in march to remind any recently engaged couples - you don't have to have a 1-2 year long engagement before your wedding!! 😟

if you're anxiously waiting to tie the knot and just wanna do the dang thing, planning for a late 2025 wedding may be the move!! in my experience, late october through november is the BEST time to get married. you're not sweaty and suffering, the fall colors are still present, and it's not as torrential downpour-y compared to spring (thanks, pittsburgh)!

while a 6-month planning period may seem a little fast, i've been a part of some incredible weddings planned in half that time. as long as you stay organized, focus on your priorities for the day, and have a team of reliable vendors (*cough* hire a coordinator *cough*), it's 100% doable.

Just putting some feelers out…would any of my Wheeling area people be interested in fall mini sessions at Oglebay? Thinking maybe October 6th, which is Oglebayfest, so you can stop by with your cider & kettlecorn while you’re already up there! 🎃

These can be anything ya want - couples, families, your dog, etc! I know a few of you guys have mentioned that you’ve been meaning to book with me but don’t have the time, so this would be the perfect opportunity!
