Meet the Roseate Spoonbill 🦩
With its stunning pink feathers and unique spoon-shaped bill, the Roseate Spoonbill is truly a sight to behold. These gorgeous wading birds are often found in coastal marshes, mangroves, and wetlands of the southeastern United States, Central, and South America.
Their vibrant color comes from their diet, rich in crustaceans and other aquatic creatures, which are full of pigments called carotenoids. Watching them feed is a graceful dance as they sweep their spoon-shaped bill from side to side, filtering out small fish and insects.
