Day 2 in Iceland. A 7k (in and back) hike where we passed 2 waterfalls and ended at Brúarfoss. This is one of the two on the hike there. The water gets it’s blue color from fine glacial silt that refracts sunlight.

Red, Purple, and blue are the rarest colors you can see in the aurora. Red auroras occur at high altitudes of over 150 miles where the air is thinner. They’re pretty short lived so to be able to capture some red last night was a treat.
