Bark & Gold Photography

Bark & Gold Photography Pittsburgh pet photographer creating timeless outdoor portraits & museum-worthy artwork for those who value quality, intention, and a fully guided experience

I'm a firm believer in what Vincent Van Gogh said: "What is done in love is done well." I love what I do--and I want you to, too! Whether you choose a large wall art piece to fill an empty space above your fireplace, a stunning fine art album filled with all of your session images, or a luxurious heirloom folio box, I'm there every step of the way to deliver a personalized experience you won't for

get, natural and expressive images you'll love, and five-star artwork to last generations…without the fear of losing your memories forever to technology gone wrong. If you spend more time telling your dog "I'll miss you" as you leave for work than you do your significant other or willingly sacrifice four feet of your bed so your pup can sleep comfortably, then you're going to love the Bark & Gold Photography experience!

Apparently, the pups and I need to clear some shelf space…because Bark & Gold Photography recently won two 2026 LUXlife Awards! 🏆

This recognition means so much because it reflects what Bark & Gold Photography has always been about from day one: creating an experience that feels personal, thoughtful, and deeply meaningful for the people who love their dogs like family.

So if you’ve ever trusted me with your dog’s story, your goofy sidekick, your soul dog, your once-in-a-lifetime heart connection…thank you. Truly. This wouldn’t exist without you.

Tomorrow is World Pet Memorial Day. 🪽

It's not one of those holidays you'll find plastered across store windows or marked by giant sales, but for those of us who have loved and lost a pet, it matters.

Because the dogs we love leave their mark in places no vacuum, lint roller, or glass cleaner could ever reach. They leave behind the sound of paws on hardwood floors, the habit of reaching for a leash that's no longer hanging by the door, and a thousand ordinary moments that became extraordinary simply because they were there.

The dog in this portrait is my heart dog, Hunter. We said goodbye to him in September 2025 at just over 16 years old. He inspired Bark & Gold Photography, shaped so much of who I am, and remains the reason I believe so deeply in preserving our dogs' stories.

Tomorrow, I'll be thinking about him and all the extraordinary pets who continue to be loved and remembered.

If there's a pet you'll be honoring this Pet Memorial Day, I'd love to hear about them. Tell me their name and share a favorite memory or photo in the comments. 💛

One of them is fueled by determination. The other is fueled by pure chaos. Yep, that’s my guys…

I’m not convinced either one actually wants the towel as much as they want to make sure the other doesn’t get it. 😂

So…who’s taking home the championship backyard title here: Toby (the furry one) or Levi (the smooth one)? Vote in the comments.

After your session, the magic doesn’t stop.

Each image is culled with intention, base-edited for accurate color and tone, and then hand-retouched for wall art with meticulous detail.

Leashes disappear. Background distractions fade. Tiny imperfections are refined.

The goal? Artwork worthy of being seen every single day.

I’m talking full-blown, bumper-to-bumper personality match.

Is he a decked-out Jeep with muddy paw prints on the dash? A classic ‘67 Mustang with a vintage soul? A twin-turbo Lamborghini Huracan with a livery that screams “midlife crisis, but make it canine?” 🛞🐶

If your dog has been staring at you like, “Sooo…what’s the plan today?” all summer long, this one’s for you. 😎

I know your idea of summer and your dog’s idea of summer are wildly different. (You: relax. His: absolute chaos.) But if you’re looking for a few fun ways to make the most of these sunny days together, I’ve rounded up some local favorites and linked them in the first comment.

And hey…while you’re out there making memories? Those are the exact moments worth remembering long after summer fades. June and July dates are now open. Just saying... 📷

The beautiful thing about rescuing a dog is that one day they’re just…there.

In your house. In your routines. In your camera roll 4,000 times. In your heart, in ways you never fully saw coming.

And somehow this once-stranger becomes the reason you laugh harder, walk more, worry more, love bigger, and find shredded towels in places towels should never be. 😅

Toby may not know how much he changed my life, but I do.

Post a picture in the comments of the dog who changed your life.

In January 2017, Jes Wasik had three clients.

All friends. Total revenue for the previous three months: $640.

Then she ran one contest.

Within weeks she had 13 sessions booked, a growing email list, and a local rescue singing her praises all over social media. She didn't run a single ad. She didn't post every day. She didn't cold pitch anyone.

She just created something her community actually wanted to be part of.

Seven years later, Jes runs a thriving multi-6-figure pet photography business in Pittsburgh. She's run that same contest every single year. And she's taught other photographers to do it too — photographers who have collectively raised over a million dollars for local charities, including $600,000 in 2024 alone.

On June 2nd at 2pm Eastern, Jes and I are hosting a free training where we're going to show you exactly how this works — and why it works so well.

It's called Double Your Impact: One Contest. Full Calendar. Big Impact.
