Sunset on my two favorite islands located right in my backyard. and I have been renovating this new house for months now, it’s been a lot of work but super gratifying doing most of it ourselves and making it our own. I’ve been out shooting jobs here and there but most of my time is spent renovating leaving no time to shoot for fun anymore. I did however just order the M3 so I hope to get back out there and explore with the new drone very soon!

The Cichla Ocellaris AKA Butterfly Peacock Bass. I shot this male in my backyard as he was protecting his female companion and their spawning bed. The female and male Peacock Bass will protect their eggs from predators, taking turns to hunt for food. When the young hatch, both adults look after the young fry for several months and defend them very aggressively. As an angler I avoid targeting these bedding Peacock Bass which line our freshwater shorelines across South Florida.
