The planet Jupiter with its moon Io | March 6, 2026
I captured this with HRPO's large 20 inch reflecting telescope. Photographed with my ZWO ASI585, my footage came out quite nice, but got fuzzy when a 3x Barlow was added.
Probably the first time I ever caught any blueish colors on clouds, but I did notice through the live view some dark spt on the bottom cloud band. I thought it was a shadow transit, but there were no moons nearby, and Io's shadow had not passed for another 4 hours after that. I had a look on Stellarium, the Great Red Spot was on the opposite side, and this current dark spot was not showing up on the program, not sure if its something new or not.
