The reception ended hours ago and you’re comfy cozy from the night of your life. Tomorrow you and your spouse will wake up and share your first full day of married life. There will be zero counting of rentals, no timeline, no loose ends to tie up. That’s my job.

Sent 10 perfectly worded vendor emails with a booking link built directly into them.

The phone rings four minutes later.

It’s someone who did not read a single word and would like to know if I have a quick second now because they didn’t know they had a planner.

I don’t, hence the link in the email you just opened to call me.

This is not a complaint. This is just what Tuesday looks like when you plan weddings for a living. Between the emails, the vendors that skip the emails, and the 14 questions emails that could just be a google, staying organized is a full time job before the wedding planning even starts.

My only regret about this wedding day? Not taking a time lapse of our incredible team resetting the reception space after implementing the ceremony "weather plan" in record time while guests mingled during cocktail hour. The guests likened the team's precision to a F1 pit crew. I couldn't be more proud! Having a team I can trust with such a visible and time sensitive work while I accompanied the couple to sign their marriage certificate is such a gift.

The tent portion of our season is around the corner. Perhaps the most challenging of venues for the Adirondacks and Vermont, and not the low cost solution. You're not just renting fabric and poles, you're building an entire venue from scratch.
Here's what most couples don't budget for:
flooring (because grass gets muddy and uneven), lighting (tents are dark inside even during the day), climate control (heat in summer, warmth in fall and spring), a generator to power it all, and luxury restroom trailers because porta potties aren't the vibe.
Then there's design. With no existing architecture, every corner needs intention. Bare tent walls look unfinished, so you're adding draping, florals, signage, and lounge furniture to create atmosphere.
And don't forget permits and insurance. Many towns require special event permits for tents, and liability coverage is non-negotiable when you're hosting on private property.
Tent weddings offer unmatched creative freedom and the ability to transform any location into your dream celebration. But they require serious financial preparation, meticulous planning, and a team that knows how to execute flawlessly.
If you're considering a tent wedding, go in with your eyes open. Budget realistically. Hire experienced vendors. And understand that you're not saving money—you're investing in total creative control.
