Chad David Kraus Photography Voted "Best of Westchester" 2014, 2015, 2016, 2019, 2020 & 2022! Mitzvahs, Weddings, Broadway Theater I love life. It has been a love affair ever since.

I believe that is what feeds my passion for photography. I’m quite sure that is what compelled me to take much of my savings from years of selling lemonade and cookies in front of my apartment building in Manhattan, and at the age of 12, purchase my first camera. I still own that 35mm camera I bought when I was a kid. I shot with it for 20 years and have grown to consider a camera to be an extensi

on of my very being. I’ve captured the pure and innocent joy of my three children… unforgettable travels around the world… the simple beauty of nature… memories that will last a lifetime. I’ve purchased other cameras since then and now shoot digitally. I am constantly inspired to shoot in the relentless pursuit of the perfect picture. A child’s smile… true love shared by a bride and groom on their wedding day… a mother’s prideful glance at her son… a father glowing at seeing his family grow before his very eyes – these are the moments worth capturing. After photographing a relative’s bat mitzvah, I received such praise and encouragement, that I came to the realization it was time to share my passion and life long love of photography with others. Chad David Kraus Photography was born! Since that party, I’ve professionally photographed weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, sweet sixteens, communion parties, family and baby portraits, professional headshots, and many other special events all over the tri-state area. I pride myself on my candid photography taken in a photo journalistic style. Every photo can tell a story and I look to capture the truth of a given moment and believe it shines through in my work. For my portrait work, I enjoy the use of natural light and locations that have a personal attraction or meaning for my clients. It is for this reason that I do not use a studio. I live in the town of Pleasantville, NY in Westchester County and work all over the tri-state area. The love and support of my wife and three children give me my true inspiration. For that I am eternally grateful.

I met Lauren when I was the house photographer for Jagged Little Pill. She is not only an incredibly talented actor and singer - but is one of the most genuinely friendly and kind humans I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with and getting to know.
“Becky Shaw” is biting, sarcastic, funny, and sad all rolled into one. Relational and family trauma. A perfectly written dark comedy. The cast is fantastic and Alden’s Tony winning performance turn as one of the main characters, Max, is fascinating to watch. He is so damaged and hides it all so well behind his words.
Unfortunately, the play only runs through the weekend - but if you can make it before then - it would be well worth it.

Happy PRIDE everyone!!! A reminder that having PRIDE is about being our own authentic selves - no matter what that looks like. More loving. Less judging.
I captured these images at the JOYOUS Pleasantville Pride Festival here in my town this past weekend. And I slipped in a selfie of me with the Drag Queen Story Hour reader.

Carrying the weight of almost 2500 years of Torah history. With all of your family and friends with you to help support that weight. Pretty special.

There are a couple little brothers, not more than 6 or 7 years old, that live up the block from us. I often look out our window and see them walking their dog together. Many times they are shirtless and barefoot, and it reminds and illuminates me to the carefree, nature and innocence of childhood. The other morning, the grass was covered in dew, and one of the left behind a little footprint at the top of our walk. Made me smile. That is all.

Hopeful and joyful post of the weekend… We met Daniel Radcliffe last night. He spoke with us for a solid 15 minutes about Maggie’s struggles with leukemia and her bravery. We spoke about parenthood. We talked about babies. We spoke about siblings. We shared stores of mental health struggles and how everyone has tough times. We discussed whether it is better to take pics with your phone horizontally or vertically. We discussed brilliant things. Hopeful things. Our ultimate lack of control over many things.
He hugged Maggie and Jillian and me multiple times. A reminder that we are all human and need connection.

Daniel is truly genuine and kind and caring. I was surprised by how much time he spent with us after an emotionally draining performance. I never once felt as though he was thinking about anything other than being present with us.

(Every Brilliant Thing) is a beautiful piece of theater. See it if you can. Either with Daniel or Mariska Hargitay when she takes over in a week.
