It seems like I’m in a nesting phase. I’ve been feeling the urge to stay home more. To recreate and refresh our space, do things, and reteach myself things I haven’t done in a long time. If you’re wondering where I am, I'm taking care of myself and my family. While also running a six-figure full-time business that doesn’t just support me but also pays out 5+ others who are a part of making this business what it is.

im home because i need to learn how to take care of me and my children first — so then i can better take care of you. ❤️ so grateful for TEAM ASHFAB putting in the work while i was getting myself out of the mud. To all the vendors I work with, the care, love, and grace you extend me, overflows my heart, and to the friends who I don’t have to overexplain to, because you know my heart and the community who continues to have my back. Loving the artist and everything they’ve been through to get to this point. In the age of AI, instant gratification and facetune. I encourage my clients to remember this. That in this age, I’m a photographer who fights to keep the heart of it.

This means 👇🏽
realistic turnaround times. 8-12 Weeks.
saying no to last-minute bookings.
and only booking weddings if you have a coordinator.

At this point, my books are FULLY CLOSED, and each inquiry will be considered and waitlisted.

each no breaks my heart — but in this season of serving and loving my family. I’ve realized I need to focus on being MOTHER. ✨

And the right love stories will fall in between effortlessly.

Life has been shifting big these last few months. Wait for a year and a half. No like since 2020!? Lol. But Ashfab is growing — been building a solid back end team to support me in life.

Life will continue to be busy and hard. And having a system that supports me more than it works against me is a goal.

I’m not just a photographer — I’m also a business owner. So I’ve been needing to step into that hat more. I’m not worried about bookings or what I’m missing out on. I may not text back, and haven't been saying yes to every booking. Honestly I haven't had the energy to keep telling bookings or friends no. I'm learning the weight in which each yes holds. And when I show up i want to show up fully.

So what I’m building now, what will last a lifetime.

When I was a freshman in high school, I moved to Redmond from Maui.

i started getting into photography in high school. Redmond class of 2010!

Smith Rock quickly became special to me. sunrise/sunset hikes. I brought my best friend hatchi on many of the hikes, as you can see: Misery Ridge, ice cream dates. and countless memories with many sweet friends and family.

i never met my dad.

i never had a reason to say father’s day until 5 years ago.

sometimes i think what it would be like to have a father.

So today, I’m thinking about all the people carrying complicated stories.

The ones grieving someone they never met.

The ones missing someone they loved.

The ones healing from what should have been.
