This going to be a long post so bear with me and super hard for me to even post. I have been sitting on this and contemplating even posting for a few weeks now...
For the last 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of photographing so many of your babies, your families, and your milestones. For the past five years, my little Polk City studio has been the heart of those memories, a place where your children have grown up in front of my camera and where countless moments have been frozen in time.
A little while ago, my landlord (who truly has been the most wonderful landlord I could have ever asked for) shared news that broke my heart. She told me she was going to sell the house I’ve used as my studio. I cried the entire drive home… and then cried some more. For a moment, I wondered if maybe this was life telling me it was time to slow down. Maybe even step away from studio work completely. I tried to accept it. I tried to imagine walking away.
But after about a week, I realized that I simply can’t. This studio isn’t just a space, it’s a part of me. It’s where your kids learned my silly little “look right here!” voice… where some of them took their very first photos… where friendships have grown… and where I’ve poured my entire heart for years.
I knew I had to fight for the house.
Thankfully, my landlord offered me the chance to purchase it before anyone else, and we have been approved. Although I have been able to come up a large portion, I wasn’t prepared to buy a house this suddenly, and I didn’t have time to save what I needed for the down payment and closing costs.
So, I’m offering pre-paid outdoor packages for 2026 as well as Giftcards to help raise the funds I need. And for anyone who has asked, yes, I’ll also have CashApp, Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, Chime and Apple Pay available for anyone who wants to support in any amount. Truly, any little bit helps more than you know.
And now for something new:
Even though, fingers crossed, I might be able to keep the studio, I still feel like it’s time for a fresh start. If I’m going to stay, I want to revamp the space completely... update the look, refresh the sets, simplify, reorganize, and breathe new life into it.
Because of that, I will be selling a large number of my backdrops, props, set pieces, and client closet wardrobes.
All sales from these items will also go directly toward the budget I need for the house if we’re able to keep it.
I will be offering one-on-one walk-through appointments for photographers who want to come see everything in person.
Message me to schedule, Monday through Friday, between 10 AM and 3 PM only.
This is not easy to share. I’m usually the one capturing everyone else’s moments, not asking for help with my own. But this studio means everything to me, and my client family means even more.
Thank you for loving me, supporting me, trusting me, and growing with me. Whether this next chapter is in the same little studio house or somewhere new, just know that my heart is full, and it’s because of all of you.
I love you all more than you know.
