The lionfish may be one of the ocean’s most striking species, but in Atlantic and Caribbean waters it’s an invasive species with few natural predators. Their rapid reproduction and voracious appetite have made them a major threat to native reef ecosystems. This fish was photographed at the Marine Science Center in Ponce Inlet Florida. An interesting fact about the Harris’s Hawk is that they will hunt cooperatively in family groups. Using teamwork, strategy, and communication to track down prey. They are one of the few birds of prey known to hunt almost like a wolf pack.🦅

One of spring's earliest voices in the wetlands — two Northern Green Frogs blending perfectly into its marsh habitat.

Spring in New York wetlands means longer days, thawed marshes, and the return of amphibian activity. Green frogs often stay partially submerged along vegetation lines, relying on camouflage and stillness to avoid predators.
